Funding Questions

A: The award is structured as a fixed price grant.

A: Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs—also known as indirect costs—are capped at 20% of modified total direct costs for IX Pilot Track awards.

A: Pilot Track awards are fixed-price subawards of up to $25,000. These funds have already been secured and are ready to distribute.

A: Applications are reviewed by InxiteXccelerator within 30 days of submission. Recommended applications are anticipated to be reviewed by NIH within 30 days. Grant funding will generally be distributed shortly after training begins.

A: Yes. InsiteXccelerator is complementary to I-Corps and has expanded content for biomedical innovations. InsiteXccelerator grant funding is distinctly intended to support research and can be applied to derisking your technology. Your assigned mentor will provide innovation-specific advice for up to six months.

Programming Questions

A: The program, on average, takes about two months with a total time commitment of about 24 hours to learn the material.

A: Eric Gottlieb (IX program manager: egottlieb@desca.net) will match you with a dedicated mentor with relevant experience developing technology similar to yours. Your mentor will meet with you periodically to discuss how to apply the training material to the development of your innovation, as well as provide broad guidance on maturing your technology.
